I have been sitting on this blog post for about a week because I don’t know where to start. I had the opportunity to work with Laura, Matt and their families for a little over a year. Over that time, I have grown so close to the whole family. It’s weddings like this that make it my job worth every minute!
I met Laura years ago and she always said I would one day plan her wedding. Following a very romantic, Charlottesville proposal, Laura called me and the planning began! Laura LOVES Christmas and knew she wanted a Winter wedding. Her Pinterest board was filled with gorgeous, full blush and ivory centerpieces, lanterns, wine/burgundy colors and creams. It was all so beautiful and I was thrilled to have the opportunity to take all of her ideas and put them in one cohesive design.
Leading up to the big day, Laura, Matt and I chatted about all the scenarios due to weather. With Virginia weather, you never know if you are going to get a nice crisp day at 50-60 degrees, an abnormally hot day or blistering cold during the month of December. Although the morning started out a bit dreary and on the chilly side, the sky opened up and the sun came out as Laura began to walk down the aisle. It was like a scene from a movie. The day was truly perfect. From the hot chocolate bar (which included peppermint schnapps), to the fleece blankets provided by the family for guests to bundle up in, to the sophisticated blush and ivory cream centerpieces no detail was left out. I am thrilled that Laura and Matt got their romantic, Winter wedding without the frigid temperatures.
I can honestly say that I will stay close with these two and their families and I can’t wait to see what their future holds for them. Love you Laura & Matt! Thank you so much for letting us be a part of your big day. To your families, thank you so much for allowing me to become so close with you all and making me feel like I was part of the family. Congratulations!
