Today I am so excited to be sharing this video of Courtney Inghram and I’s convo about pricing yourself for what you’re worth. This girl right here is so impressive ya’ll! She has figured out the key to working hard at a manageable amount of weddings, yet making a whole lot more money than many of us who are working our tails off.
I remember the days when I had 20+ weddings a year booked but made little to no money (ya’ll let me be clear on what little to no money is: sales for the whole year was around $12,000)! I worked so hard for barely anything! And you know what else I noticed? When I was booking tons of clients for so little money, I worked so much harder than I do these days. Those clients were incredible and I’m so thankful I was able to be a part of their wedding days, but I physically was tested at these weddings. You see, typically the folks who have lower budgets take the more DIY route to host their wedding. There is nothing wrong with this, but when you are working these weddings I learned your to-do list becomes pretty extensive! Corners are typically cut and those responsibilities end up on the planner’s shoulders. You somehow become the photographer, wedding planner, florist, and DJ. It is just too much for one person to wear all those hats!
Like Courtney, I realized quickly that I wanted to work smarter not harder. Deathly afraid I wouldn’t book clients, I took the leap of faith and up’d my pricing. Since then I have increased my pricing about five times and I am now one of the more expensive planners in the area! And guess what ya’ll….I am still booking clients!
In this weeks video, Courtney and I talked all about our failures and successes with pricing! To watch the replay click here.
