For all my florist friends out there, I’m sorry this is something a lot of brides have been asking me lately! Over the past couple of months, I have discussed alternative centerpiece options more and more in our wedding consultations. Today, I’d like to share with you three centerpieces that do not utilize flowers.
Now keep in mind, if you are a bride who LOVES flowers as much as we do, this post can still relate to you. You could incorporate one of these looks among a quarter of your tables to give dimension and save a little bit of money!
1. Heavy Candles and Dimension Centerpiece. This is about the easiest, most beautiful centerpiece a couple can incorporate into their wedding. The best part is this costs less than $25 a table! Purchase 4-5 different size, cylinder vases. We like to purchase ours from
www. save-on-crafts.com. Fill the vases with water and top them off with a floating candle. You can also include pillar candles on glass platforms if you don’t love using all the same thing. We purchase our candles in bulk through
Amazon. Surround the vases with additional votives (again from save-on-crafts) and you are done!
2. Fruit in Vases. This is another one of our favorites! We have found that apples are some of the best pieces of fruit to use. In this centerpiece, we filled a large cylinder vase with green apples submerged in water. We took it one step further and had the apples carved out on the top and placed tea light candles in them. This centerpiece will have your guests talking about how unique the look is! We have found that you can do the same with peaches, plums, and red apples.
3. Wood Planter Boxes with Candles. This is another look that I think is so simple yet so beautiful. This planter box costs just $20 and can be purchased (
here). We love that save-on-crafts provided inspiration with this look of placing pillar candles into the wood box. As simple as it is, it’s an idea that many wouldn’t have put together on their own. I know we cheated a little on this one, since there is a sprig of greenery in this look, but we had to share!
