Ya’ll get your tissues out, the photos in this post are going to have you sobbing! Over the years, first looks between couples have gotten more popular and it seems like just about every couple now is fitting in a first look between the bride and groom prior to the ceremony. We are all for first looks between the couple, but the first look we are talking about today are between the bride and her daddy!
I’m going to keep this post super short, because I think the photos tell it all! Here are the reasons why you should consider doing a dad/bride first look prior to the ceremony:
1. From the moment you were born, your dad has dreamt of this day! Just about every dad I talk to, talks about the day his daughter is in her beautiful wedding gown off to marry the person of her dreams. It’s finally a reality and you should allow your dad the opportunity to take it all in! When he sees you come around that corner in your wedding gown, every childhood moment is going to flash before his eyes and there is going to be an outpouring of love that you both deserve.
2. The day goes by so fast, having a few moments to the two of you is everything to him. Everyone will tell you…your wedding day is the best day of your life, but it is also one of the quickest. Throughout the day you have so many distractions. Slow down, and allow yourself and your dad to enjoy a quiet moment together before the day truly gets underway. You won’t regret it!
3. Because after today, it’s no longer just you. (I know, I have tears in my eyes just writing that). For twenty, maybe even thirty something years, you have always been your daddy’s little girl. He probably gave you the advice to never date, EVER or there would be a shotgun involved or told you you could date when you were 25. And when you finally met “the one,” he probably gave you the advice of taking it slow, and reminded you of what you deserve in life. While this is the biggest day of your life, it’s also a monumental moment for your dad. While you will always be his little girl, it will no longer just be you. It will be you and your spouse and eventually your family! Like I said, after today, it’s no longer just you. Take it all in for the last time!
Now to the good stuff….here are some of our favorite first looks with dad’s and their daughters that had us not only in tears but the whole room!
