Because it provides me with a lot of the information I need to make educated decisions about our planning services/business choices but it also helps me stay educated on what all of you incredible couples are looking for!
Today I am reviewing the top 5 statistics that the wedding report shared that will help you in your wedding plans! Get out your pen and paper and take it all in, ya’ll!
- Top Wedding Dates are a Thing!
These days there is no such thing as a wedding season in our area. People are getting married every weekend and even on weekdays. But want to know the most popular wedding dates that couples are choosing this year?
So why does this matter? Well, if you have just gotten engaged and any of the above dates are on your horizon as a potential wedding date, know that they are most likely not going to be available for many vendors and venues! Also, know that you are definitely not getting discounts because these dates/months are prime time for weddings!
2. Guest Experiences are Important to Couples
Couples have spoken and providing their guests with an incredible experience is really important to them! Why does this matter? Well, because it’s going to cost you a little more if you want to go above and beyond for your guests! Below are the top items couples are spending their money on to provide the ultimate guest experience!
3. Nearly 80% of couples go beyond their initial set budget
Nearly 80% of couples set a rough budget prior to researching any vendors – often times under-estimating the cost of products and services.
On average, couples expect to pay $16,000, but end up spending roughly $29,000 on their wedding.
Curious on why this happens so often?
4. Everyone is Chipping In to Pay the Wedding Off!
The average couple pays for roughly 45% of their wedding cost, with family and friends footing the remaining bill. Couples tell us they mostly dip into their savings (42%), find ways to make some extra cash (30%) and even incur credit card debt (20%) to cover their share.
5. There are Lots of Planners Involved!
Forty percent of couples start to plan their wedding less than 1 month after getting engaged. Their first actions include setting a date, researching venues and determining a budget. 27% of couples hire a wedding planner, with day-of-planners being the most popular type.
So who does the planning and how does it breakdown?
